Bluey (Pacific Saury)
£6.55
- The ‘pacific saury’ (cololabis saira) aka the bluey, was introduced into theUK sea angling market in 2007.
- They are an extremely oily fish making them immensely effective, especially for rays, dogfish and whiting.
- Resembling a cross between a mackerel and a garfish, these fish are found all over the pacific from Japan to the Gulf of Alaska.
- The oil from a bluey has a far greater viscosity than mackerel or herring and as such remains in the flesh and washes out much slower.
- There is no surprise that the mini bluey has since hit the pike scene with an almighty splash.
